Inaugural Military Banner Recognition Program

 

 Information

The Veterans Affairs Commission's Inaugural Military Banner Recognition Program was created to recognize our Hawthorne men and women in uniform past and present.

Street banners will be designed, printed and displayed honoring Hawthorne's military men and women between Memorial Day mid-May until Veteran's Day mid-November unless otherwise announced by The City of Hawthorne or Veterans Affairs Commission.

There is a limit of one banner per honoree and the fee is $200 per banner.

Eligibility

  • Banner honorees must be current military personnel who are honorably serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, or a military veteran who has honorably served in the past to include those who are now deceased.
  • Honoree must be:
    • A Hawthorne resident (Past or Present)
    • A family member of a Hawthorne resident
    • Business owner within Hawthorne
    • Work within Hawthorne
    • Actively involved in Hawthorne

 Location of Banners

Exact location for each banner will be determined by The City of Hawthorne. Projected location will be on
Hawthorne Blvd between El Segundo Blvd. and Rosecrans Blvd.

Damaged banners may be removed from display at the discretion of The City of Hawthorne. Banners will be displayed from Memorial Day mid-May until Veterans Day mid-November, unless otherwise  announced by The City of Hawthorne or Veterans Affairs Commission.
