Pursuant to Section 54974 of the California Government Code, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy exists on the Youth Commission. The duties and qualifications for the position are attached hereto.
Final appointment to the Board shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 working days after posting of this notice in the office of the City Clerk.
The duties and responsibilities of this commission shall be as provided in this code or by the Government Code of the State.
2.17.070 Purpose—Duties and responsibilities.
The purpose of the commission shall be to coordinate and direct the resources of the city in conjunction with the four pillars: (A) education; (B) community service; (C) civic engagement; and (D) leadership. The commission shall have the duty to disseminate information relating to education, providing volunteer opportunities, encouraging a culture of college attendance, and promoting the youth voice in local government; it shall also have the duty, responsibility and discretion to make reports and recommendations to the city manager or to the city council. Such other matters may be referred to the commission by the city council from time to time. (Ord. 2190 § 2, 2019; Ord. 1551 § 1, 1993.)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Hawthorne, at its December 15, 2020 regular City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. will consider the following:
Resolution No. 8246, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Hawthorne, California, Adopting an Amended Conflict of Interest Code Containing Revised Designated Positions and Disclosure Categories and Repealing All Previously Adopted Conflict of Interest Codes.

Due to the closure of City Hall, the reports will be available for public review online by visiting http://www.cityofhawthorne.org/city-clerk-home-2019. The Reports have been prepared pursuant to the requirements of Government Code Section 66006 and will be presented to the City Council for its review at a public meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 4455 126th Street, Hawthorne, California. This will be a virtual meeting and members of the public are welcome to participate by following instructions on the agenda.

Pursuant to Section 54974 of the California Government Code, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a CITIZEN’S OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE has been formed. The duties and qualifications for the position are attached hereto.
Final appointment to the Board shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 working days after posting of this notice in the office of the City Clerk.
Duties.
The City Council shall appoint a Citizens Oversight Committee, which shall have five members. The Citizen’s Oversight Committee shall review the audit prepared pursuant to Section 16, and may make such recommendations to the City Council as it deems necessary or useful. The Citizen’s Oversight Committee may, by a majority vote of its membership, choose to publish an annual report, in which event such report, if approved by a majority of the members, shall be published on the City’s internet page. Members of the Citizen’s Oversight Committee shall be appointed to terms of a length set by the City Council, and any member may be removed from the Committee prior to the end of his or her term by a unanimous vote of the Council. In the event the City Council, the Citizen’s Oversight Committee, the City, any employee of the City, or any member of the City Council or the Citizen’s Oversight Committee fails to take an action required by this Section, any court of competent jurisdiction may order that the action be taken. However, such failure to act shall not invalidate the City’s authority to levy any tax or in any way affect the ongoing collection of any tax pursuant to this Ordinance.
