The City of Hawthorne Centennial Celebration came to a close when the Time Capsule was officially buried on September 13, 2022 in front of the City Hall flag pole.

The Time Capsule was filled with new memorabilia from this era. The prior contents were sent to the Hawthorne Historical Society and others are on display at City Hall.

Mayor Alex Vargas, Councilmembers and City Officials were in attendance to present opening remarks.

The Time Capsule will next be opened in July 2072
