Congresswoman Maxine Waters came to Hawthorne on March 23, 2022 to deliver over $1 million dollars to the City of Hawthorne!

The presentation was held in the City of Hawthorne Council Chambers.

Recipients in attendance included;
Jan Vogel from the South Bay Workforce Investment Board
VFW post 2075 Quartemaster Roger Morrissey, Commander Barry Colston and Life Member Ann Wright
Housing Director Kimberly Mack

Checks received included;

• $500,000 went to the Hawthorne affordable housing improvements project
• $500,000 to the South Bay Workforce Investment Board - SBWIB
• $235,000 went to the VFW Post 2075 rehabilitation project
