City of Hawthorne's Public Works Department held a ground breaking ceremony at the Southeast corner of Birch Ave and 126th Street.

The North East Mobility Improvement Project will include upgrading all ramps to make them ADA compliant, resurfacing of all the asphalt, doing driveway improvements, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; all to improve public safety. In addition, over 500 parking T's will be added. 

This project is one of 32 active projects in the City, and is expected to be completed by December 2024.
