On Thursday, May 16th the City of Hawthorne, in collaboration with the Hawthorne Presidents Council, held the 42nd Annual K-9 Community Dinner. The fundraising event served spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, held a raffle, and the K-9 Unit had a demonstration of the canine dogs going through obstacle courses. This event was not only to show the community why the K-9 program is an asset not just to the Hawthorne Police Department and the Community, but helpful is it to have this unit in the city. Funds raised go directly to the K-9 Unit which pays for equipment, training and the purchase of new K-9's in the future.
