A special memorial service was held on April 19th for beloved Hawthorne Police K-9 Scottie, who unfortunately passed away on March 14th. Many of Scottie's friends, coworkers, and colleagues from all over came to show their respect to the first ever police facility dog who came to HPD in 2012. K-9 Scottie spent thousands of hours bringing smiles to the faces of children in court, officers, and individuals facing some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Scottie’s impact surpassed even Hawthorne city limits, his presence and overall impact on the Hawthorne community has become known internationally.

RIP K-9 Scottie...thank you for all you did for our Hawthorne Community.
