The City of Hawthorne hosted a Juneteenth Celebration on June 22, 2024 at Hawthorne Memorial Park. It was an event to celebrate and recognize the ending of slavery in the United States.

The big event had 4 live bands, performers, bounce houses, food trucks and so much more. The free family event was a great place to come together to enjoy live music and also shop from a variety of vendors too. The city hopes to have not only made this event a fun-filled day for all, but also be an educational time for everyone to learn about this relatively new federal holiday.
