The event was held November 28, 2023 at Zela Davis School in Hawthorne.

In partnership with the City of Hawthorne, all elementary and middle schools in the Hawthorne School District will implement a new crossing guard program, supporting safe commutes for students, staff, and the local community.

Hawthorne School District Superintendent Dr. Brian Markarian along with Hawthorne City Manager Von Norris and Police Chief Gary Tomatani were present to kick off the event.
