The 47th Annual Medal of Valor Awards presented by the South Bay Police and Fire Memorial Foundation were held on May 18, 2023

Purpose of the Awards

Medal of Valor, Distinguish Service, and Lifesaving awards are given to police officers and firefighters whose nominations have been selected and screened by the executive officers from their departments and by a panel of police and fire chiefs representing the South Bay Police and Fire Memorial Foundation.

We honor those receiving the awards for actions taken that do not necessary define the individual but call attention to their promise to the community to be there when needed and put others' concerns above their own.
