Police Chief Mike Ishii announced his retirement at the end of December 2022.

The Chief has worked for the City for 32 years and has been Police Chief for 4 years.

The Chief expressed his gratitude to all city staff and the community for the support given to him and the Hawthorne Police Department.

The audience gave him a standing ovation and the Councilmembers each expressed their thanks to him for his service.
