Assembly member Tina McKinnor of the 62nd district attended the special meeting to present the City of Hawthorne with two checks awarded by the State.

A 5 million dollar check will be used for improvements to the Community Center

A check of $500,000 will be used for improvements to the Senior Center.

Brenda Williams and Diane Brown, who manage the operations of the Senior Center, indicated that it has not been renovated since it has been built and the funds are greatly appreciated.
