Hawthorne Police Officer’s Association presentation of the “Hawthorne Fallen Hero’s Scholarship.”

The scholarship is in memory of fallen officers, including Hawthorne's Officer Andrew Garton and Sergeant Leonard Luna.

Officer Anthony Barlin, a board member of the Hawthorne Police Association, introduced Jose Mada as this year's winner.

Jose is currently a student at Long Beach State University and has been a member of the Police Explorers for 2.5 years. He is a Parking Enforcement Officer and his dream is to become a Police Officer.
