Council member David Patterson presented a Proclamation honoring the Vietnam Veterans of America.

March 30, 2023 marked the 50th anniversary of the United States leaving Vietnam.

Dennis Wilde, President of the Vietnam Veterans of America South Bay Chapter 53, and Jerry Orlemann accepted the proclamation.

Dennis Wilde spoke on the SAFE (Salute Armed Forces Everyday) program which helps to recognize veterans, active military, and first responders by standing up and being recognized at community events.

Jerry Orlemann thanked the council for the City's support and assistance for veterans activities and how Hawthorne has be noted at a state-wide level for support of veterans.
