Interim Police Chief Tomatani introduced the newest member of the Hawthorne Police Department's K9 Team, a bloodhound named Whiskey.

Whiskey is 1 year old and his career will span 9 years with the Department. Officer Cody Dahlen is Whiskey's handler, they both attended a training course in Georgia.

Chief Tomatani explained that Hawthorne has many assisted living facilities where residents with underlying medical conditions and dementia may wander away and need to be found. Whiskey will be deployed in these new use cases where other K9s can't assist.
