The City has achieved Gold level status through the Energy Leader Partnership Program, a program developed by SCE, the Gas Company and the South Bay Council of Governments.

Climate Action Plan (pdf)
The City of Hawthorne, in cooperation with the South Bay Cities Council of Governments, has developed a Climate Action Plan (CAP) to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions within the city. The City’s CAP serves as a guide for action by setting GHG emission reduction goals and establishing strategies and policy to achieve desired outcomes over the next 20 years.

Local Hazard Mitigation Plan 2019 Plan Update
The City of Hawthorne (City) has prepared the 2019 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) in order to assess the natural caused risks to the City so as to reduce the potential impact of the hazards by creating mitigation strategies. The 2019 LHMP represents the City’s commitment to create a safer, more resilient, community by taking actions to reduce risk and by committing resources to lessen the effects of hazards on the people and property of the City.
