Erika Lampkin joined the City of Hawthorne in 2022. As the Director, Erika leads employee communication initiatives, supports employees in all areas related to their employment, and supports organizational objectives. She is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for all aspects of the Human Resources functions including employee recruitment; employee and labor relations; training and organizational development; and personnel administration, which includes employee benefit and leave administration. Erika works closely with the City's five employee associations to facilitate the process of contract approval and administration for the City's 350 employees.
Erika earned her Masters of Public Administration with a specialization in Organizational Leadership degree from National University.
Erika began her career in municipal government in 2001 having worked in multiple cities and multiple departments before transitioning her skill set to Human Resources. Her career path and education affords her over 20 years in experience in the management of people and processes.
