Mrs. Mack directs, coordinates and governs operations and administration of the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program, Fair Housing, Rent Mediation, City Owned Properties, Building Rehabilitation Loan Programs and all other related Grant Programs. She manages consulting contracts and administers activities for compliance requirements and eligibility assessments of the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Mrs. Mack oversees an annual budget of over $3 million dollars.
Mrs. Mack brings over 13 years of Professional Housing experience to the Department. Previously as an Assistant Housing Manager with The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), she managed the Incoming Portability Program and Housing Choice Voucher Program. Mrs. Mack was responsible for 3,000 voucher contracts equating to over $5 million in monthly Housing Assistance disbursements.
During her tenure at HACLA, Mrs. Mack was very active with the Council of Housing Professionals – Administration and served as its Board Chair. She also participated in the planning committees designed to boost employee morale and HACLA’s Leadership Program designed to prepare staff for upper level positions. Also as an outside activity, served as the Secretary and Treasure on the Board of Beyond the Skies Unlimited, a non-profit mentoring program for at risk youth that provides tutoring and life skills.
Mrs. Mack is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Morris Brown College, Atlanta GA, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in the field of Public Administration with an emphasis in Urban Administration.
